Scarlet's 8th Birthday
Scarlet invited 4 of her friends to see the 10th anniversary show of Mamma Mia the musical at Star City here in Sydney.
We had a family BBQ afterwards.
Scarlet picked a Pink Paris Poodle theme.
I made her dress from some divine "Vintage Paris" fabric by Bebe using a vintage 1950's pattern she found in a thrift shop almost 2 years ago. She's been waiting till she was size 8 (the pattern size) to have it made up.
I had enough left over fabric to make Lulu a little dress/top too.
We used some other great Paris fabrics for the tablecloths - I'll be able to make these up in to some summer dresses.

Chinese dinner for Toshi's 83rd Birthday
We had Toshi's birthday dinner at the King Wan restaurant in Woolooware.
Years ago this restaurant was actually called the Wan King restaurant.
Johnny & I nearly died laughing the 1st time we ate there!!!
Jokes aside, the food & service is fabulous.

About Me
- Sharyne Doughty
- Sydney, NSW, Australia
- I am an Australian artist. I sold my first work when I lived in London just over 20 years ago. I have been exhibiting & selling since. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts from RMIT in Melbourne where I majored in Painting & Film Making. I love art & all things retro & vintage. I adore Blythe & my vintage Barbie dolls. My partner is Japanese Aussie & has fostered a passion for Japanese culture in me. We have 2 beautiful daughters - Scarlet Kiyoko Christine (7) & Talulah Kimiko Wendy (5). I have enormous fun making greeting cards for friends & family & now for Etsy. My more serious paintings are an attempt to find harmony between nature and man's impact upon it and a search to find beauty within the often harsh realities of life. I live on Sydney's Botany Bay. I am always saddened at the amount of rubbish I discover on our beautiful beaches. I collect this rubbish then embroider & stitch it on to my canvases. I like the idea of transforming something ugly in to something beautiful & new … my alchemy!
